Denis Savelyev

My Altus has opened so many doors on my musical journey. It was an instant connection and an absolute joy when I first played the instrument. The instrument helps me create music with a wide pallet of colors and quick response to the sound.

Denis Savelyev is a soloist, chamber, and orchestral player. First-prize winner of the 2017 New York Flute Club Competition, "Rising Star" at the 2021 Galway Flute Festival, and Young Artist of 2019 National Flute Association in the USA. Originally from Western Ukraine, Denis Savelyev was born in Lviv and began studying flute at the young age of five. After completing a combined Bachelor's and Master's degree at the 'Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow, he moved to the USA to pursue a MM and Professional Studies at Mannes College, The New School University, and a Master's degree in Curatorial, Critical, and Performance Studies at The Orchestra Now, Bard College, New York. Currently, Denis is a guest member of the Palm Beach Symphony and pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in the studio of Marina Piccinini.
