Altus Artists: Wissam Boustany

One of the few flutists to have launched a successful career as an international soloist in recent years, Wissam Boustany is a consummate musician offering insightful and energetic performances. In addition, his enlightened manner of working with other musicians has gained him increased respect and attention as a teacher on an international level. He has performed numerous tours throughout Europe, the Middle East, Far East, United States and Latin America. He has been responsible for many world premieres by today's composers with his imaginative programs. He combines the innovative with the traditional with his exquisite renditions during performance.

Wissam Boustany is also founder of TOWARDS HUMANITY - a multidecade international initiative working with musicians and charities to help communities suffering from the tragedies of war. His compassionate efforts in the Middle East, Northern Ireland, and the former Yugoslavia have been recognized with an award of Knighthood by the Lebanese government. In addition, he was awarded the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum in 1998 - Switzerland.

Wissam Boustany continues to use his music as a powerful force to open the doors between peoples and nations thereby creating awareness and increased compassion for communities in distress.
