Soloist & Instructor Torleif plays the 14K Model 5307 and the silver 907RE Torleif Ander is recognized as one of the most successful and influential flutists in Sweden. After finishing his studies at The Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo, Norway, with renowned teachers Per Oien and Ornulf Gulbransen, he began an intensive career as a musician and teacher. He was appointed head of the flute department at Ingesund University College of Music in 1989 and recently at the University of Orebro in 1994. He is also founder and director of the international summer academy, "Flutemania", which is one of the most popular flute courses in Scandinavia today. Mr. Ander has also served as a professor at the Scandinavian Bach Academy, and as a result has been regularly invited to offer masterclasses in many countries. In 1999 he was Artistic Director of the 1st International Flute Festival in Scandinavia - Orebro Flute Festival. After serving as Principal Flutist in several leading orchestras in Sweden, he has now begun focusing his musical activities into chamber music and solo recitals. His tour schedule has brought him to many locations throughout Europe, the United States, Peru, Brazil, Argentina and Ecuador. His recording experiences include radio and television broadcasts as well as several recordings. In the Academic year 2003-2004, Torleif Ander will be an artist in residence at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA.
